Felix Brambaifa

The heart of love is truth
Its strength, in its root
Its charity in its abundance
Like stars in a celestial dance

Each moment the passing of magic
Potent against the most tragic
Its patterns, indeed most divine
Like illumination, its essence do shine

I pray to come in contact
A union with this ancient fact
When savages make righteous claim
And in gentleness find no shame

I have seen its presence before
Come to reside in our mortal shore
With a message tangible and sublime
Like the medley of natures rhyme

Some say its abode to them unknown
But isn't it to all men clearly shown
That our soul the eternal fount
Humanity, the seed to forever count.

Adultery

Felix Oyintonbra Brambaifa

The claim of loyalty has run sour
Like soup tainted the night before
The act was at this very hour
An immoral deed without cure

His request met no resistance
For her lust was without limit
It was a tryst by compliance
Her loyalty, feebled that very minute

How sudden the fall of friendship
When lust overpowers common sense
And inflict on trust a terrible hardship
One, at once both rigid and tense

A friend to a  distanced husband
Now a defaulter of morals and tradition
With a wife, a curse unto the land
This hut, now a ground for abomination

Though the act in secrecy retained
Nothing is forever outside of time
Time shall unveil all truths detained
Then even the darkest guilt will shine

How come life
Is the medium of strife
The source of it all
The height of our very fall

If it is God's greatest gift
Then why is its charity adrift
And its values corrupted
Like evils will adopted

Unto a vile purpose
Intended for man's own lose
The very destiny of his being
The supposed fault of Adamic sin

No man can ask
That which to him is no task
For what is existence
If it was never by our insistence

Life is the makers jest
Lodged in man's panting chest
To find its complete ridicule
When death becomes the rule.

By Felix Brambaifa

The heavens now dark
Must cast her brow below
Her intent so stern
Must judge even the shallow

For man is no longer innocent
The secrets of their hearts lay bare
Is same as the predilection of wild beasts
Whose hunger all must come to fear

As was once the character of ancient times
When ignorance called nature's growl barbaric
And the hinterlands made deity of natural things
Ascribing piety just because their will was then weak

Now be the time of mans own reign
And even the wild wonders at his cruelty
Wondering of what use is the gift of reasoning
If man's will be like beasts led only by instinct

Even the beast now must fear our existence
For such is the implication of man's dominance
To employ the savagery of brute force
And yet feign ignorance of divine ordinance

But for those things in contradiction to balance
Shall their roots be plucked off its foundation
Not for the reasons man desire power
But that all things from God can live in harmonisation

Not simply for the glory of the ultimate deity
but that he may actually come to true rest
Free from the pious rantings of the oppressed
Whose righteousness is like the troubles of a pest

By Felix Brambaifa

Your acceptance meant more
Than life ever gave
More than the darkness of before
But like the light I do now crave

You became life’s greatest anticipation
Like dry lands after Noah’s flood
And to my hopes, you became manifestations
As if you had become my own god

Little is what words can express
For much must remain unrevealed
Though your grace had tempered the tempest
And rejuvenated, when my soul did bleed

My counted blessings now like grains
Shall remain relic of your great worth
You made bountiful like drop of rains
That grace, without which I always, fell short

Your place is beyond the measure of worth
For its roots is in Gods own heart
Surely from above you decided to come forth
And with my soul forged an eternal pact

You are my grace in human form
Your broke the darkest rule
And separated me from the storm
That now you have become my silent miracle

If circumstance were permanent
Then suicide would become choice
If God to prayers remain silent
Then on his grace I rest my curse

If fates were written on stone
Then the purpose of life is scorn
If what we reap is what we have sown
Then why do children fall before a gun

If tears must fall each time we mourn
Then the world a bed of sea would have become
If man cannot truly live without the sun
Then why does it hide when we face the storm?

If traditions were indeed without errors
Then the hinterlands would know no tragedy
If pastors to Africans are not traitors
Then pagans would be choirs of heavens melody

If the will of Angels is truly to obey
Then who pushed Lucifer and told a false tale?
If heaven is most suitable to stay
Then marijuana would surely be on sale

If homosexuals were created by divine will
Then God must be the oldest bisexual
If it is wrong to have the intent to kill
Then why has God not denied devil the chance to prowl?

If hell is the opposite of heaven
Then why is earth not covered in fire?
If what we have is all that is given
Then why is man judged for his desire?

If all said to you make no sense
Then you do not understand the agony of life
If you have ever smelt humanities stench
Then you know, God is male and you, his wife

By Felix Brambaifa

My heart is set on purpose
Your remorse before it is frail
Ours is now like a withered rose
Onto death its destiny must sail

Take with you the memories
Whether sweet or bitter, its yours
For me, they inflict great miseries
Reminder, your love became a curse

Not a moment for thoughts of you
Nor in loneliness wish our union reforged
Now i know good maidens are few
Not even available in Gods own church

Carry your pride further beyond
To a place ignorance high esteemed
Make of him this shattered bond
But a slave he becomes to your greed

Never a man more unfortunate than him
than he fettered to your cold embrace
A minion now to your caprice and whim
Unchained, doomed for a terrible disgrace

Finally i must run beyond your reach
No more victim to the songs of your deceit
Free from the doctrines your deceit do preach
Your claims over me you now forfeit

The cry of the miserable
Is like the whispers in a waste land
Its strength determine, but feeble
And so hope is impossible to find

There, exists only the feel of desolation
Of the kind, akin only to despair
The will to survive clouded in confusion
For the agony of loneliness brings fear

The shadow of abandonment looms tall
Like the darkness that precedes deaths hand
When its purpose must enforce the spiritual fall
Into a realm, where all fates be bound

By Felix Brambaifa

I will wrap you in warm embrace
And evoke emotions in pleasurable ways
To make each moment a tale of its own
To prove that love can sometimes be written on stone

Together our chapters shall break bounds
Transgressing beyond limits and confines
To speak for itself where love is no more
Erupting the amorous waters in that arid shore

The whispers shall make rumors spread
Our details, its flame through gossips be fed
As if it were the endemic fires of choleras
Asked to abate, not by potions but prayers

Surely our fame shall linger through time
And become pleasing like natures rhyme
All because your love charitably was forged
And my hearts reciprocity could not be grudged

Felix O Brambaifa

What path must undoubtedly lead there
Such as the mystics once knew
Embraced by the ambitions of man
But known only by the diligent few

Some proclaim its content be
The scriptural confusions of priests
Whose ranting can unveil nothing
But their hunger during religious feasts

Man no longer behold the answers within
Because the illusions of appearance beckons
He calls the manifestations of change, miracle
Because of ignorance, the crown of his treasures

      The road is assuredly within
From whence all can be clearly seen

Stop this foolish unholy parade
Of being constantly contrite and above faults
For it is against the patterns we were made
To walk our trials upon Gaia’s face

Our errors made are truly ordained
The mirror to verify our innate deficiencies
Not the mortal sin our souls so stained
Must beg cleansing from the great above

In humility not guilt we must stand
Even when misconduct seems to prevail
The purpose is of a transcendental kind
Of which through failures perfection becomes

The source God is but only spirit
And through spirit him we shall meet

In prepared silence we must all call out
Not to the assumed falsities of clergies
Whose concerns are powers over others
But to spirit, aloof all mortal vices

The concealed cause of our existence
The surest bridge to that great yonder
Obstinate before man’s spurned confusions
Above that which mans ignorance can plunder

It was through spirit the path was forged
Through spirit the celestial pact eternally made
Through spirit can we find the source God
And into spirit we must return when time do fade

By Felix Brambaifa
1
Many years chronicler of our tryst
When our communion held sway
The particulars of that great warmth
Whose fires kindled without delay

It was on that ordained dawn
Our paths interfused became one
As if by Cupids very injunction
Our heart into a synthesis was born

The timidity of youth before you faltered
As my guts made torrents of affirmations
To make glaring the brewing passion within
In words to express without any confusions

But all was to the merit of time
As your honor spoke of that ancient flame
Whose embers your will had once consented
That now an hindrance it was to my claim

Seasons it met, the measurement of my quest
With efforts of love my heart perpetuated its course
Like a mermaid against the current of the waves
Though persistent, it was without the barbarity of force
2
Then a day only the gods could have prompted
The momentums of your heart you made plain
The very reciprocity to my claims you permitted
And a new chapter of warmth thus enacted

What pledge shall concretize my solemn oaths
To stay the turbulence which in suddenness do sprout?
What will to quell the passions that do demotes
Loves resilience before the perfidy from wanton lust?

Though now I may lack the answers I seek
But through you shall no mystery abound
For when into the limpid streams of your heart I peek
I behold strength, beyond that which is deceit

So let tomorrow come if it must
And to trial put this union we cherish
Then I swear we shall kiss not the dust
Or through pains our love come to perish

For you have become that enduring love
The constant flame within my heart
And my answers to prayers from above
To this end how could I possibly forget?

By Felix Brambaifa

The cries of heaven so unknown
But yet lingers through the night
All that she seek is her own
Their freedom from illusory fright

But the veil so long maintained
Provokes their conditioned bigotry
The fanaticism religiously sustained
Without the prodding of rational enquiry

She begs for her children's choice
To comprehends life's metaphysics
For that enlightenment through their voice
To make the spiritual their basis

Before her all men stands equal
And her divine will without favour
Prepares men for life's trials and fall
Born not as victims this reality must devour

But through hardship come to evolution
The fabric through which gods are sewn
And so aligned to heavens true intention
And our once illusory reality made anew

Come to her without claims of right
For are we not all from the source
Propagated by her procreative might
That we can despite our diversity unite

My path shall unto that end engage
Like the solitary vigor of an hermit
Embracing the routes of ancient pilgrimage
Making the life of the mystics my habit

By Felix brambaifa

Void of virtues they greedily match forth
The promulgation of doctrines the intent
A guide for a society of mans great worth
But the inherent light is already far spent

Everything is by the content of mind
There is no disparity from its origin
For as the morality of a man is blind
So shall their outpourings be misleading

Mans civilization is perilously unto nothing
In vain we thrive on the profits of the physical
Though its ripeness is the bringer of suffering
The prosperity of it to our essence is inimical

So why do we rely on the craft of our forges
When we do little for the spirit self within
Why do we diminish the value of common senses,
Mandating complexities, that it be the main thing?

The doctrines of man is complete misfits
From his intent the disorder is designed
So in hypocrisy, there are made explicit
To make men victims, their essence confined

These doctrines must do deliberate disservice
Though they be paraded under the guise of welfare
To place most men under unwarranted mercies
That would prove to show that power is unfair

Behold the evil that goads the administrators
Know these glimpse of lights are marks of deceit
Come to know there are our greatest tormentors
From the origin it was made to lead us to defeat

The doctrines makes profits for the few selected
A co-ordinated attempt at reducing our collective will
The physical laws is the runes of the demented
It was constructed to constrain our innate will

By Felix Brambaifa

There is no condition to restrain
Like flood the deluge of my pain
The cherished embers flames no more
Like torches cast upon a watery floor

So still the mien surrounding us
Like the fate of an ancient curse
History it becomes of past memories
Erased and vanquished by recent miseries

Our embrace like the deep of cold night
Takes shape like horrible incantations sent
Promises of yesterday is now like distant light
Towards remedy, we are without strength

The active craving of our hearts falters
There is now no melody convenient enough
For vexation is the charity of our tempers
As we aptly disdain all that which is love

So it be wise we embrace our different path
To keep safe the residue from memories wall
To gladly accept the condition of being apart
Before stagnant emotions takes a reckless fall

In memory of
Kelsy Senibo Tambo (1992-2011)
By
Felix Brambaifa

Your earthly memories must now linger
For now it becomes our constant bane
A debt to which we must all surrender
In the duty of love for the reward of pain

So unfair how others fall and we yet exist
To continue in grief until that time ordained
When reality is altered, no matter the greed to resist
Into a place uncertain, where we are then detained

What comes afterwards we would never know
But unto you I shall come without fear
Where physical bond altered must spiritually regrow
A love of old rekindled with you my dear

Gradually it comes the day of reckoning
When this curtain falls and another raised
We are all cursed to this inevitable foreboding
Which when triumphant our earthly time erased

Grief the detail and character of my soul
As I lament the remembrance of moments past
Of experienced laughs this demise stole
That togetherness I had wished would last

Until the time comes I choose to remember
Your purity for which earth was thus unworthy
Your embrace and warmth during last December
During which I thought our time was for eternity

To you I insist that there must come no end
For my will falters when I must say goodbye
Your memories I would live to strongly defend
I will bid no farewell and this is certainly no lie

By Felix Brambaifa

Taste the deep salt of my tears
Realize that my heart is tethered in despairs
Taste the solitude that binds me
Then you shall realize I seek to be free

Many the concerns that waft through
But none to measure the contents of my grief
This reality is to all but a domineering few
Whose vanity drives their rectitude adrift

My bond from childhood was forged
So I had pledged to a service of truth
But now my confidence deeply scorched
Erstwhile loyalties must now bear ill fruit

How vain the pursuit of the commoner
Whose gaze pierces not even his own ignorance
How certain he might never become the dreamer
Whose visions take to account his annoyance

Never again shall I subscribe to be part of this
Never again shall I claim nonchalance
To embrace quietude when events go amiss
When the clandestine make their stance

Judge not unfairly the particulars of my origin
For as a Nigerian I am greatly aware of shame
And her wickedness that makes us all scream
I am victim to the vices that brings her fame

So now I stand on the grounds of convictions
And disavow all commitments to her gains
To make ridicule of her false constitutions
Which forever has held us all under chains

With resolve I wash anew my defiled dignity
And put before suspicion things of government
For it was and still is the hand that brings calamity
And for their sake did we endure cruel torment
